Our coaches are extremely knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. We don't end the member's experience with the workout - our coaches go above and beyond to offer support via email, phone, and social media. By doing so, each member has a unique experience and can truly aim to maximize their potential not just as an athlete, but as a human being.

Head Coach & Owner - Dillon Burns

Dillon is from Des Moines, IA and has been in the health and fitness industry and studying/practicing it in some regard for nearly 10+ years. He has studied Exercise Science and Strength & Conditioning at Iowa State University, Advanced Personal Training at Bryan College, and is a CF-L1 Trainer as well as PN-L1 Exercise Nutrition Coach; Dillon is also a Veteran of the U.S. Navy with deployments taking him all over the world. With that experience, he's developed a very intricate coaching system that allows him to help his athletes facilitate positive change in their lives very effectively.

Beginning in 2004, Dillon began taking classes and going to all the schools the Military would send him to on health, fitness, wellness, and specifically tactical strength & conditioning. Within a year, Dillon was given the responsibility of being in charge of over 600+ service members' health and fitness; developing programs, working with individuals and groups on nutrition and healthy lifestyles, and remediation where necessary. His coaching style is more of a "Life Coach" approach than it is a fitness coach, but he says that style is much more productive than simply focusing on fitness, however large that role plays in the athletes lives.

Dillon is married with one son, Maximus James, and his pooch, Tehya.

fitness trainer - angie little

Born and raised in the small town of Grinnell, IA. Angie played soccer and rode mountain bikes throughout her high school years. she Road Ragbrai in 2003 and she would love to do it again when her annual training (at) for the army national guard doesn't conflict with it. Angie was also a volunteer firefighter/EMT in her home town for 9 years until she moved to the Des Moines area, where she got on with the Ankeny Fire Department as a part time Firefighter/EMT. angie is also a contract Wildland firefighter for Iowa DNR. she is Currently in the Iowa National guard as medic and works full time as the Physical Security Program Manager.

angie started with functional fitness because she was getting bored with general gym workouts and wasn't gaining the overall physique and athletic ability that she was wanting to achieve. Plus high intensity, functional fitness bids well for her with the military and firefighting lifestyle. From there she fell in love with it. The love and passion that she has for fitness has not only helped angie to push herself to achieve goals, but to also help others achieve their goals as well, which is why she pursued becoming a trainer. Angie's Overall goal is to constantly keep learning new skills, improving all aspects of life in and outside of the gym, and become more involved in the fitness/coaching side of things.

fitness trainer - staci morris

Staci grew up in New Virginia - a small town in southern Iowa. She began her higher education at Central College in 2012 and then transferred to Iowa State University. She graduated in May of 2016 with a degree in International Studies and Spanish. Staci has spent the last year preparing to apply for Office Candidate School for the Marine Corps. (UPDATE - Staci was selected and will attend Marine Corps OCS later in 2017!) If selected, Staci will attend the 10-week course in Quantico, VA. Upon completion, she will commission as of officer in the Corps with aspirations of becoming a pilot.

Initially a multi-sport athlete in high school and an avid lifter and runner in college, Staci found high intensity, functional fitness back in early 2014 and hasn't looked back since. The knowledge she has gained over the last 2+ years about fitness & nutrition has all been thanks to very dedicated coaches who continuously push her to new limits. With her past leadership and fitness experience, coaching others comes natural to Staci. Although encouraging someone to hit a new PR is always exciting, she really enjoys teaching how to scale movements or motivating an athlete to try something they're not used to - even if that means just going on a run!
